Overview of Future Films Group

Future Films Group plc is an international production and finance services group that specialises in making feature film and TV productions with global appeal. Future Films organises access to international financing, provides production financing and a wide range of production and post-production services, assists with the final packaging of films and distributes films and other digital content in the UK. The Group’s business model is based on specific fee-earning and service providing arrangements, which reduces its exposure to the risks related to the creative elements of the films and their box office performance.

Strong track-record

Future Films is currently one of the few companies that specialise in organising the provision of a combination of film finance and other related services to independent film producers, and occasionally to the Studios. The management of Future Films have raised over £2 billion over the last 9 years, and have financed over 120 films. In addition, the Group’s production and post-production facilities have a highly successful track record (with the only Dolby Premier sound studio in England), producing a number of popular UK TV series including Spooks and Law and Order UK. Future Films has provided film finance expertise and advice to a number of producers on both sides of the Atlantic and is increasingly looking to operate in new territories such as Australia, South Africa and Spain.

Growth strategy

The Directors believe that the Group is well positioned to take advantage of the current film and wider audio-visual environment to grow both organically by adding new services to its offering, and through acquisition. The current economic climate has seen the withdrawal of funding from traditional sources, creating an opportunity for Future Films’ production financing services to step into this void. Awareness of the Future Films brand is increasing rapidly with new territories opening up many opportunities for the Group.
