Building on the success of Future Films in the UK, Future Films USA (“FFUSA”) was established at the end of 2006 in Los Angeles to offer our services as both a producer and a financier to the US production community. The US offers the best access to projects, distribution channels, finance, infrastructure and talent, and remains the centre of the filmmaking industry.

Since its inception, FFUSA has been involved in a variety of capacities with numerous productions that have shot all across North America. In addition to its work as an executive producer, FFUSA also offers debt financing to projects shooting in North America (this includes Canada). On any given film, our funding to a production can include the cash-flowing of a tax incentive, such as a rebate or a transferable tax credit, the discounting and cash-flowing of pre-sale contracts entered into by distributors, and a gap loan. With all the right elements in place, this could result in a loan to the production of as much as 50% or more of the budget for a film.           

Given the diverse nature of the company,  FFUSA no longer regards itself as "just" a financier. To producers already based in North America, FFUSA provides an experienced partner with the ability to tap the strategic alliances within the independent film market that have been formed by the Future Film Group across the world in the ten years since its inception. For international producers looking to shoot in North America, FFUSA provides a valuable resource as an "on-the-ground" partner in Los Angeles, with an intimate knowledge of the North American film scene, locations  and financing options, as well as its established contacts with major Hollywood players, including studios, talent agencies, sales agents and financiers.

FFUSA brings with it the production and legal expertise that has been built within the Future Film Group since the very beginning.
