Ricky Margolis

Vice President

Ricky joined Future Films USA in March 2007 as Production and Development Executive. His responsibilities include the tracking of projects that require financing and helping them to progress into production, liaising with the various film commissions to keep abreast of their legislation, and the development of relationships with sales agents. Ricky also works closely with the London branch of Future Films to co-ordinate their production needs in Los Angeles.

Prior to joining Future Films USA, Ricky worked for nearly three years at Filmax International in Barcelona, Spain, the country’s leading audiovisual company, as International Marketing Coordinator in the international sales department. As part of a “mini-studio”, Ricky gained extensive experience working directly with producers, directors, writers, talent, agents and financiers. It also required his presence at important international markets and festivals, including Cannes, the AFM, Toronto, Berlin, Montreal, MIPCOM and MIPTV, where Ricky spearheaded the marketing campaigns for a variety of large-budget films for the company. He was also required to work closely with the production team at Filmax and was involved in the development and progress of such high-profile films as Fragile (starring Calista Flockhart), The Kovak Box (starring Oscar-winner Timothy Hutton) and The Backwoods (starring Gary Oldman).

Ricky’s first experiences in film production came at the age of 17 when he worked on the set of hit British comedy Waking Ned, followed soon after by another film, Chopin: The Mystery of Delfina Potocka. Aside from films, he has spent time working in Germany at the sportswear giant adidas as part of their promotional team for the World Cup in 1998, and also as a teacher at a secondary school in France.

Ricky holds a Bachelor’s Degree (with honours) from the University of Leeds in English and French, and a Masters Degree from the University of Manchester in Modern European Cinema. He is fluent in English, French, Spanish and German
